Stahlgestell, Polyurethanummantelung.

Paper folds inspired the creation of fabric and chair. An unusual co-operation.
The elegantly light ‚Paper Planes‘ reading chair is the final outcome of a long story about an unusual furniture fabric. In the beginning the task was to integrate miniature crystals in a furniture cover fabric. The London-based designer twosome Jonathan Levien and Nipa Doshi associates crystalline structures with the folding edges of paper that has been folded into squares. The visual idiom of the graphic line grid subsequently led to three-dimensional structures. From that point of view it was only one logical step from fabric to chair. The high and low-back models are the result of a strategic co-operation between crystal (Swarovski), fabric (Kvadrat) and furniture experts who like to try out new things. Steel frame, polyurethane coating.
