The strength of this modular seating-furniture range lies in its limitation to four elements
When designing ‚FreeFlow‘, Gordon Guillaumier may have pictured the bold curves and hairpin bends of the Gotthard on whose southern side the old and the new pass tracks intersect. The modular seating range is of course of a totally different scale but features a similar space-consuming and endlessly flowing shape. The basic elements are two concave quarter circles and a linear segment (185 cm long) with two backrest variants (in parallel or diagonally). Two upholstered strips, one for the seat and one for the back, determine the structural configuration. The module that features the diagonally aligned backrest functions as a sort of central “switch”. Its intersections allow a fluid change of the seats‘ direction and permit smaller units to be separated even when the elements are configured in a linear fashion. The reduced form of ‚FreeFlow‘ also applies to the triangular aluminium legs, which, even when positioned together, makes double legs look like a single leg.
