■ For Antonio Citterio, ‚AC 4‘ is the logical update of his ‚AC 1‘ to ‚AC 3‘ office chairs which he has developed since the 1980s. This one too, comes in a sober and reduced style, constituting a contemporary expression of timeless design which today means that it is an alternative to those omnipresent seating machines with their net webbing. ‚AC 4‘ is characterised by a flexible and extremely slim backrest. A fabric or leather cover is stretched tightly over the movable frame, and stabilisation is afforded by distinctly upholstered parts. In this way, an ergonomically comfortable three-part structure is achieved. There’s a supporting lumbar zone, topped by a flexible zone for the upper back and by a supporting zone for the shoulders. In addition to the usual comfortable features typical of this class, the armrests can be rotated by 360 degrees, and the aluminium ring armrests are an alternative variation for conferences.
