Floor-standing basin enlarges product range
The manufacturer complements the ‚Scoop‘ range with a free-standing wash basin of thin-walled mineral composite, thus creating a sculptural product line that began with a tub (md 3/2007). There are completely white versions, but as with the tub it is the coloured outside in copper, cement grey, black, red, green or coffee that lends the basin a special note accompanied by the extraordinary peach-skin feel of the surfaces painted with a special lacquer. The floor-standing basin measures 66 x 49 x 87 cm. The water inlet and outlet can be installed in the wall or the floor, and all one or three-hole fittings can be integrated. No matter from which side you perceive the basin, you will always be impressed with its balanced organic proportions. The Stuttgart-based designer succeeded in reminding us, as he did with the tub, that although water is an everyday element, it is always something special, too.
