Aesthetic Functionality
Destined for integration into working and living areas
Many manufacturers have adopted the task to create functional and comfortable workplace solutions for the home office. But as far as aesthetics is concerned, there is often much to be desired. By developing ‚Scriba‘, Patricia Urquiola proved that this must not be the case. To begin with, it’s a cabinet that accommodates the computer plus all the useful utensils you will always need but don’t always want to have to look at. Its body is made of solid wood, and the vertically sliding front of painted expanded metal. It’s a convincing mix of materials that is also used for the writing desk which is complemented by a handy drawer at the side, a bookend of painted sheet metal and a side pocket of butt leather. In case you want to transfer your home-office workplace to the bedroom, you will be glad that the ‚Net-Box‘ range offered by the manufacturer comprises a formally matching carcass programme.
