Anne Kyyrö Quinn,
London/GB,

Anne Kyyrö Quinn’s felt wall panels are works of art that make themselves useful. The relief-type structures of industrial felt were tested for their acoustic effectiveness and are recognised as flame-retardant. That’s the reason why they are an attractive tool for interior design in public and private spheres, all the more so since they can also be used as room dividers or curtains. The Finland-born designer appreciates the easy malleability, the abrasion strength and the dimensional stability of the natural material and has only industrial felt made in Germany processed in her London studio. Strong colours, different material strengths, cuts and folding techniques merge together in plain shapes that serve to enact the visual and tactile characteristics of felt in a three-dimensional structure. A traditional material, innovatively applied.
