A Perfect Balance
Not quite purpose-less objects of glass and wood
The ‚Here + (t)here‘ collection is characterised by extremes oscillating between fragility and robustness, emptiness and abundance. That is why to us the extemporized rendering of a draft seems to be an adequate form to present the fragile hand-blown glass objects, which are all looking for an unusual dialogue with oak wood.
The collection is the result of repeated co-operation between the Roman Secondome glass gallery and young international designers coming from the Fabrica talent factory, sponsored by the Benetton Group, which is based at the company headquarters in Treviso converted by Tadao Ando. The individual objects are of unusual form and format and seem to be disarmingly purpose-less. If you can’t stand this and would like to do something with them by all means, you can use them as a flower vase, a candlestick or a cheese cover… Very profane!
