Psychedelic
Décors with a space-expanding effect
The visually and haptically unusual wallpapers and HPL laminates of the ‘Joongle‘ collection conquer the room. The décors are of a suggestive mysteriousness that, not by chance, reminds us of Maurits Cornelis Escher’s optical illusions. The non-repeat ‘Belvedere‘ non-woven wallpaper, for instance, unfolds a very strong room-expanding effect. Because the décor from a height of 180 cm upwards blends into a white “horizon“, the viewer gets practically lost in the depth of a psychedelic space. In the case of ‚Colourscape Blue‘ a similar effect is achieved: this artificial desert and mountain landscape virtually devours the viewer. So it is only logical that the wall covering also ends up on furniture. A chair cover of matt silk-touch paper certainly has something special and a provides a new relevance to the ‘Elettra’ Arflex classic by B.B.P.R. that dates back to 1954. Let‘s wait and see how Markus Benesch will continue to stir up that trade. His young Curious Boy company develops and creates surfaces for walls and furniture and positions itself in the contract and office area.
