Alcantara’s inspiring potential
Our imagination thrives on impulses. The versatility of Alcantara’s ‚Interiors‘ collection, too, is conveyed impressively when staged “like in real life“. Seeing that interior and furniture designers are as susceptible to inspiring living environments as are consumers who in the last analysis decide what to buy, the manufacturer also used Fuori Saline this year for a grand entry. Giulio Cappellini and Paola Navone enacted a contemporary “dream house“ where living, sleeping, eating and outdoor activities take place in a colourful mix of styles from various cultures and ethnic groups. The range of colours, textures, materials and styles was a broad one, resulting in a stimulating invitation to experience the cuddly material, be it in the shape of a seat cover, a furniture or wall covering or a lifestyle accessory. A special advantage of the microfibre known under the tradename of Alcantara is the material’s homogeneous quality. It is very soft to the touch, antistatic, allergically neutral and hard-wearing, and its production is carbon neutral. It is easy to clean, breathable and elastic, and it can be easily applied without creases. What is more, it offers almost unlimited possibilities with regard to colouring and technically sophisticated surface desgin. From October 7 onwards, eleven internationally renowned designers will enact additional facets of its aesthetic and practical characteristics at the MAXXI art museum in Rome.
