A Stage for Art
In the scope of the Saloni in Milan, Villeroy &Boch Fliesen initiated a project that moves young artists and their current work into the focus of the public. For a start, and under the motto of “giving room to ideas”, collages and assemblages of British artist and textile designer Palvinder Nangla were presented. Nangla’s creations tell stories of things past and present. His mostly small-format artworks are based on fabrics on which he appliques sequins, buttons, pearls or ordinary ribbons and some or other item that he brought home from his strolls. Each of his pictures invites the viewer to make his or her own associations and interpretations.
